Darrell is the Founder and General Partner at Mount Haley and started the firm in early 2021. He lives in Stillwater, MN.
Darrell is a visionary leader who builds and scales businesses. He is actively interested in the growth of the companies in his portfolio and the leaders of those companies.
Darrell currently serves as the COO of School of Traditional Skills, a company he co-founded. Additionally, Darrel co-founded Homestead Living, a publishing house focused on books and magazines for those interested in Homesteading. He also founded Good People Digital in 2015, an agency specializing in equipping creator-led businesses and brands. He consults and provides executive coaching to a select group of other business leaders each year.
Previously, Darrell served as the Director of Growth for Convert Kit where his strategy took the company from $98k to $625k MRR — in just over one year.
Darrell lives in a quiet neighborhood with Claire and his daughter Collins. He enjoys spending time with his family, working on lowering his golf handicap (he dreams of single digit), and traveling to see friends and colleagues throughout the country.
Troy Klongerbo is a partner at Mount Haley and joined the firm in early-2022. He lives in Sioux Falls, SD.
Troy is a connector who loves learning what makes a business tick and how to optimize for growth. He is passionate about companies from $0 - $5m in revenue and loves seeing them grow beyond.
Prior to Mount Haley, he founded Fisheye Marketing, a marketing firm specializing in small business content, email, and social media strategies. It was acquired by Mount Haley in 2022.
During that time, he also co-launched a B2C e-commerce company in the beekeeping space, which was acquired in late 2021 after posting six figures in revenue in its initial 12-mos in business.
He graduated from the University of Sioux Falls in 2012 with a bachelor's degree in Business Administration, where he was an all-conference golfer on the Cougar men’s golf team.
Raised in Duluth, MN and currently residing in Sioux Falls, SD where he has lived since 2008, Troy has a passion for his community, where he is active in his church, serves on multiple boards, and offers time in mentorship roles.
He is husband to Sarah, father of Calvin, puppy dad of Pali, traveler, outdoorsman, and a somewhat-competitive amateur golfer.

Paul Kelly is a partner at Mount Haley and joined the firm in mid-2021. He lives in Maple Grove, MN.
Paul is a curious learner, always seeking to understand how things work. This curiosity extends to his approach in business, where he strives to comprehend the driving forces behind successful operations and optimize them by aligning people, processes, and resources.
His passion lies in seeing team succeed by aligning their purpose with their roles.
Prior to Mount Haley, he has had a mixed experience in business and ministry work, primarily focusing on the operational side of organizations.
Most recently he served as an executive operationally leading in a large multi-site church in the Minneapolis, MN area. During his time in this role they expanded from one to four locations, while also launching an online experience. As part of their expansion he had the privilege to oversee a capital campaign, raising $2.5m and capital expansion project budget of $10m, renovating 130,000 square feet of space.
However, his most fulfilling aspect of the role was investing into the development of the leaders on the team. He created a comprehensive development program that helped individuals articulate their life and career visions, providing them with roadmaps for personal growth and enabling them to achieve their goals.
Paul graduated from North Central University in 2007 with a degree in Pastoral Studies.
He was raised in a small town on the plains of North Dakota but eventually grew to love the lakes of Minnesota. He is husband to Jenna, father to four wonderful kids, and is coming around to being a dog person.
He and Jenna are passionate about holistic health, championing local farmers and the nutritious food they provide to families.
They also enjoy spending as much time as possible outdoors with family, appreciating the beauty of nature.
Jeremy is a partner at Mount Haley and joined the firm in late-2021.
He lives in St. Paul, MN.He loves both words and people, and his primary focus at Mount Haley is on language and relationships. He is always ready to hear — or share — a great and impactful story.
He currently serves as the Director of Publishing of Homestead Living Magazine, overseeing this publication’s production and scope of content distribution.
Prior to Mount Haley, his varied and diverse background had him manage small businesses, work in real estate, serve various education-focused nonprofits, and work in healthcare.
His work at Mount Haley finds him regularly consulting on other projects, contributing his thoughtful approach to writing and editing on everything from trauma-informed therapy and personal development to homesteading and cryptocurrency.
He loves working in the background and helping people find just the right words to share their stories and dreams.
His background includes a Philosophy degree from the University of Wisconsin, where he originally intended to attend law school.
He enjoys reading books, playing chess, the outdoors, and learning to love his wife and three young daughters.
